About Me

Having been able to live through some very significant advancements of every day technology has been exciting. From a young age, it became clear to me that concept evolution is a never ending process.

As a child, I would spend much of my time engaging in disassembling and reassembling an assortment of radios and mobile phones and modifying soft/hardware. Just like modern day technology, my curiosities broadened to a degree where I now create, design and develop my own ideas through design.

Design Philosophy

User-Centred Design

My design process revolves around a user-centred approach, ensuring that the needs, preferences, and pain points of users guide every decision. By conducting thorough user research, employing usability testing, and actively seeking user feedback, I integrate user perspectives at every stage. This iterative process not only refines the final product but also ensures that it resonates with the intended audience.

Designer centred design

Designers may, at times, guide users or the target audience, instructing them on actions or beliefs. Many groundbreaking designs have been met with controversy or initial resistance. In certain instances, it falls upon designers to articulate and define users' needs or preferences.

Ultimately, I feel the most effective approach often involves a blend of both perspectives. Designers can lead with creativity and innovation while remaining attentive to user needs and preferences.

Simplicity

Simplicity is a fundamental principle of my design ethos. I firmly believe that simplicity enhances user experience by reducing cognitive load and improving usability. On the practical side, a simpler design reduces the number of potential areas of failure.

Function Over Form

In my designs, functionality takes precedence over form. While aesthetics play a role, I prioritise creating products and interfaces that excel in usability and serve their intended purpose effectively.

Sustainability and Repairability

Sustainability is a key consideration in my designs, and repairability is a crucial aspect of that commitment. I incorporate elements that facilitate easy maintenance or repair, aiming to extend the lifespan of products and reduce environmental impact. This approach aligns with the growing importance of my belief in the right to repair.

When I am not designing?

Even today, I continue experimenting with electronics whilst also engaging in mechanical work on cars. These hands-on pursuits provide me with a different kind of creative outlet, where I get to apply my technical skills and problem-solving abilities to real-world projects. I find immense satisfaction in the tangible results of my efforts.

Additionally, I'm deeply connected to my cultural roots as an Indian classical musician, specializing in playing the Tabla. Music has always been a source of inspiration and relaxation for me, allowing me to connect with the rich heritage of Indian classical music and express my creativity in a harmonious way.Â
