Product Design

Tabla Maintenance

In this project, I addressed the challenges in tabla maintenance by designing a specialised tool focused on drum tensioning. The existing maintenance process posed potential harm to the user, prompting comprehensive research, creative ideation, meticulous development, and successful project delivery. This tool not only aims to streamline and enhance the tensioning process but also prioritises user safety, offering an improved and safer alternative to traditional maintenance methods for tabla drums.

Creative Processes and Ideation

This project is dedicated to showcasing my creative process and ideation. In the initial weeks, we collectively completed a set of tasks focused on the Crate and Kids case study. This report will detail my ideas and demonstrate how I refined them to arrive at my final concept. The project closely follows a real-life design process, highlighting the importance of initial research to inform the development of ideas that address user pain points while staying in line with current trends.

Reconstruction and Refinement

The following report is a collection of 8 boards consisting of drawings, cad models, sketch models and more, all based on the AEIOU principle of design. These were made to aid the re-design of the toaster that was used in the first part of the project.

UX/UI Design

BorrowBro

A team effort to create BorrowBro—an innovative, eco-friendly platform for accessing items without ownership commitments. With expertise in UX, UI, and FE development, our focus is on an eco-conscious, budget-friendly demographic with sporadic item needs. Our vision stems from a commitment to sustainability and financial prudence. Through user research, we aim to address user pain points and provide a reliable borrowing platform. BorrowBro emphasizes a friendly atmosphere with a serious tone. We prioritize accessibility through thoughtful font and color choices for a diverse user base. Our goal is to build a platform that meets practical needs and reflects our dedication to a sustainable and accessible future.

EasyGo

Designing EasyGo, a post-pandemic travel app, was a four-part journey. In Part 1, I focused on understanding user pain points, conducting tests, and creating a foundational user persona. Part 2 involved defining the problem, shaping precise statements, and ideating through brainstorming and paper prototyping. As a UX designer in Part 3, I scrutinized the competitive landscape, crafted a prototype, and conducted usability testing. In Part 4, I executed a comprehensive user testing plan, iterated from wireframes to mid-fidelity, and prepared the first case study for my design portfolio. This approach resulted in EasyGo—a travel app seamlessly guiding users through post-pandemic travel complexities with personalized notifications and real-time information.

Arun Council Redesign

Tasked with enhancing user experience, I redesigned the Arun District Council website, prioritizing responsive web design. The project began with thorough research on UI pain points, leading to a proto-persona and user path analysis. In the definition phase, I reimagined the information architecture through UI navigation analysis, card sorting, and a sitemap redesign. Transitioning to the role of a visual designer, I wireframed, designed, prototyped, and tested new solutions for desktop and mobile. This transformative journey included crafting UI components, creating clickable prototypes, and adhering to a detailed UI style guide. The result: high-fidelity, responsive prototypes for desktop and mobile, showcasing a comprehensive UI design approach that emphasizes usability and aesthetics for the Arun District Council website.
