Hanyaa Mask
This project was based in the work of the designer Hsu Tung Han. He was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1962. He graduated from the National Taiwan University and studied Anthropology in 1985. most of not all of his designs are inspired by his depth study of various aspects of humans within past and present society (Anthropology). In 1991, he held his first solo exhibition at East Asia Art Gallery. Since 1993, he has been invited to participate in many exhibitions. In particular, his work the “War Series” have been recognized and collected by many art galleries and was in the North American art exhibition from 2004 to 2006.
Hsu Tung Han uses a innovative combination of traditional wood carving techniques and various kinds of texture. He uses other techniques such as lamination of wood and clay modelling. All of the sculptures made are finished off with oil not varnish so natural colour and grain of the wood used is shown.
Hands Archaeology
In this 3D design project, I successfully brought together the worlds of art and archaeology, creating a tangible representation of the excavation process. The pine hands stand as a testament to the human endeavor to unravel the mysteries of history. Through this project, I aimed to not only meet the design challenge but also to inspire a deeper appreciation for the intricate connection between craftsmanship, creativity, and the timeless allure of archaeology.
